Position Overview

Cherish Hospice is seeking a dedicated PRN Spiritual Care Counselor to join our compassionate team in Youngstown, Ohio. This vital role provides flexible, as-needed spiritual support to patients, families, and caregivers during one of life's most sacred transitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personalized spiritual counseling and support to patients, families, and caregivers
• Conduct spiritual assessments within 5 days of patient admission
• Honor diverse beliefs while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Offer bereavement support and facilitate meaningful conversations as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Education & Credentials: Ordained, commissioned, or credentialed according to the practices of a recognized religious organization, OR Bachelor's degree in theology, divinity, religious studies, or seminary education
• Experience & Skills: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Spiritual Care Counselor in a hospice setting (Required)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to provide compassionate care while respecting diverse spiritual beliefs and practices
• Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds
• Ability to provide comfort during difficult times

• Location: Youngstown and surrounding areas
• Work Environment: On the road - travel to patients' homes, care facilities, and other locations
• Schedule: Flexible based on patient needs and organizational requirements
