Hospice Spiritual Care Counselor - PRN

About the role

Provide spiritual care services to patients, families, and caregivers within a hospice program, collaborating with community spiritual counselors as needed. Care for individuals across all ages and perform clinical duties aligned with population-specific guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct spiritual assessments, counseling, and support
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings
• Facilitate connections with community clergy
• Respect diverse spiritual and cultural values
• Participate in on-call duties
• Support staff and volunteers
• Maintain records of spiritual care activities
• Contribute to the development of spiritual care policies
• Supervise and mentor volunteer chaplains
• Engage in community outreach and education
• Perform memorial services

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field
• Ordination or recognized faith commission
• Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units
• Experience in pastoral counseling
• Familiarity with issues related to death and dying
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
