About the role
Provide spiritual care services to patients, families, and caregivers within a hospice program, collaborating with community spiritual counselors as needed. Care for individuals across all ages and perform clinical duties aligned with population-specific guidelines and standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct spiritual assessments, counseling, and support
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings
- Facilitate connections with community clergy
- Respect diverse spiritual and cultural values
- Participate in on-call duties
- Support staff and volunteers
- Maintain records of spiritual care activities
- Contribute to the development of spiritual care policies
- Supervise and mentor volunteer chaplains
- Engage in community outreach and education
- Perform memorial services
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field
- Ordination or recognized faith commission
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units
- Experience in pastoral counseling
- Familiarity with issues related to death and dying
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
