About the role

Az State Veterans Home in Yuma is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to join their dynamic therapy team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for residents with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve communication skills and overall quality of life for residents.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care plans.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in SLP to enhance treatment outcomes.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Arizona.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience working with veterans and individuals with cognitive impairments is preferred but not required.

  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
