About the role

Mentor Hospital provides four operating rooms, 34 inpatient care rooms, and a helipad, making high-quality care more accessible to Lake County residents.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Select and handle instruments and supplies during scrub functions.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients' conditions and manage overall nursing care before, during, and after the procedure.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment for use.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• One year of recent related clinical experience for internal applicants, two years for external applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Skills

Physical Requirements: Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > 75 pounds periodically. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $43.00 to $43.00 per hour. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of the Cleveland Clinic's benefits package.

Schedule

This is a PRN role. Caregivers work 2-12 hour shifts per week from 5:30am to 6:00pm, 7:00am to 7:30pm, or 8:00am to 8:30pm, with no weekends or holidays required.
