PRN Residential Specialist (Weekends)
SUMMARY
National Capital Treatment & Recovery—formerly Phoenix House—is a nonprofit behavioral health organization committed to supporting individuals in recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. They are seeking a Residential Specialist for their Adult Co-Ed Residential Treatment Program in Arlington, VA.
About the Role
Arlington Recovery Center offers medically monitored and clinically managed intensive residential treatment services for adults. The Residential Specialist plays a key role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and substance-free environment during overnight hours.
Responsibilities
- Maintain therapeutic milieu and patient activities
- Conduct random and regular walk-throughs of the program
- Respond to patient crises and emergencies as needed
- Monitor patient activities in various areas (dining room, living room, group rooms, patio, bedrooms)
- Transport patients to outside activities, night AA meetings, and appointments
- Document behavioral changes and any behavioral management issues
- Administer medications and conduct medication passes (if trained)
- Carry out other responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a substance abuse counselor (CSAC-A, CAC, CSAC) within 6 months of employment
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred
- Knowledge of addiction treatment and 12 Step recovery process preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification, Medication Management a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

Benefits
Compensation range: $20–$25/hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience, education, and relevant credentials.

Schedule
Sat & Sun 7pm-7am & 7am-7pm PRNs needed. At least 3 shifts per month are required to be worked to stay active.
