PRN Recovery Support Staff (RSS) Nights

About the role

The Recovery Support Staff (RSS) plays a crucial role in supporting clients recovering from alcohol or substance abuse. They assist with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Q30s and 1:1 sessions according to hospital standards
• Participate in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings
• Assist with treatment engagement by identifying patients' problems, needs, and strengths
• Co-facilitate didactic, educational, and community groups
• Communicate patient behavior to the treatment team
• Maintain boundaries with patients and employees
• Observe patients for behavioral changes and respond to codes
• Ensure patients are on schedule for events and maintain a safe environment
• Carry out general nursing assistance as assigned
• Supervise patients and ensure their involvement in treatment and during transport
• Orient new patients to the program and milieu
• Perform clerical/administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Current valid driver's license
• Experience in mental health and recovery support preferred
• CPR and CPI certification
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good vision and basic PC skills
• Strong time management and multitasking skills
• Exceptional follow-through on tasks and assignments
• Physical requirements including stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and handling objects
• Ability to work amidst distractions and handle interruptions
