About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to join our healthcare team at Pahrump Clinic. This is a PRN position requiring a minimum of four 12-hour shifts per month, including rotating weekends and holidays. You will perform diagnostic imaging exams, work closely with radiologists and physicians, and ensure high-quality imaging results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  • Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
  • Assists and instructs students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
  • Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
  • Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
  • Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
  • Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.

Requirements

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) certification.
  • Radiologic technologist license in state of practice (if applicable).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform MA functions in a clinic or InstaCare setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of radiology experience.
  • IV Certification.
  • Medical Assisting experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment.
  • Frequent verbal communication with providers, patients, and visitors, including hearing and understanding spoken information quickly, especially during emergencies.
  • Manual dexterity for operating complex and delicate equipment, including frequent computer use and typing.
  • Ability to lift and move patients and heavy items, utilizing full range of motion.
  • Walking and assisting with transporting/ambulating patients, pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment.
  • Navigating crowded and busy rooms with equipment and power cords.
  • Standing in a stationary position for extended periods.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $29.43 - $45.39, dependent upon experience.
