PRN Radiology Technician

About the role

The Radiologic Technologist at Vaughan Regional Medical Center supports accurate and timely patient diagnosis and treatment through diagnostic imaging procedures. This role involves positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical factors, and producing high-quality images in compliance with physician orders, established protocols, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician’s orders
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
• Maintains patient safety and monitors patient condition continually
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure

Requirements

• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• 1+ years radiologic tech experience (preferred)
• BCLS required

Qualifications

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
