Responsibilities
- Perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Review patient history and physician’s orders.
- Educate patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice as ordered.
- Monitor patient’s condition and respond to changes as appropriate.
- Perform quality control checks on equipment; troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report malfunctions as necessary.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
- Analyze results, identify quality issues, and take corrective action including repositioning or repeating procedures.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.
- Provide direct support in meeting departmental service level.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts/unit as needed.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements
- A graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
- Current radiation operator certificate in state of practice.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology.
- BLS required.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
