PRN Physician General Surgery

About the role

As a General Surgeon, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role, you will provide acute care surgical services at Platte Valley Hospital on an as-needed basis. Typical procedures include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and other general surgery cases. Weekend call coverage runs from Friday morning through Monday morning, with a minimum commitment of one weekend per month. During coverage, you’ll round on 4–10 patients, perform an average of 3–4 surgeries, and participate in trauma handoff and patient management.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute care surgical services at Platte Valley Hospital on an as-needed basis.
• Typical procedures include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and other general surgery cases.
• Work weekends covering call from Friday morning through Monday morning, with a minimum commitment of one weekend per month.
• Round on 4–10 patients, perform an average of 3–4 surgeries, and participate in trauma handoff and patient management.
• Option to hold a PRN clinic on Friday mornings for follow-up visits.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years post-training experience
• MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
• ACGME Residency training in General Surgery
• Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery
• ATLS and ACLS certifications required
• Active, unobstructed Colorado medical license, or the ability to obtain one
• Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $7.25 - $999.99
