About the role
As an Enhance Rehabilitation physical therapy assistant, you will work under the guidance of a physical therapist to assist in treating patients. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing physical therapy treatment programs based on each patient's needs, assisting patients through all phases of treatment, communicating with patients about their treatment, and providing continuous updates to physical therapists, directors, and facility staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist in treating patients following an individualized plan of care developed by physical therapists.
- Ensure that every patient receives quality treatment leading to excellent functional outcomes.
- Develop and implement physical therapy treatment programs based on each patient's specific needs.
- Aid patients throughout all phases of physical therapy treatment and techniques.
- Discuss treatment plans with patients and document patient conditions and responses to treatments in charts after each session.
- Communicate continuously with physical therapists, directors, and facility staff regarding patient progress and any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.
- Operate and apply knowledge of standard physical therapy equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passing scores on the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a physical therapy assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Successfully completed the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE).
