PRN Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

About the role

Community Health Center of Central Wyoming (CHCCW) is seeking a compassionate and motivated PRN (as needed) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Quick Care unit in Casper, WY. This position works less than 20 hours per week on an as-needed basis, providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages in a fast-paced clinical environment. The Quick Care urgent care operates Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, treating non-life-threatening conditions with shorter wait times and lower costs than an emergency room. Laboratory, X-Ray, and Pharmacy services are available on-site.

This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses and injuries while collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and support personnel to ensure exceptional patient care. Work is performed in a typical outpatient clinic environment, with occasional travel to other rural health clinics throughout central Wyoming.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries in a Quick Care/urgent care setting.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and support personnel to deliver exceptional patient care and service excellence.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of special populations, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, sexual orientation, economic standing, and disabilities.
• Perform primary care services competently in a clinic environment.
• Travel periodically to other rural health clinic locations as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate of a recognized and accredited training program for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
• Licensure by the State of Wyoming and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
• Previous work in an Urgent Care setting is preferred.
• Ability to work and interact effectively with staff to build and enhance teamwork.
• Successful completion of substance abuse testing as a condition of employment.

Schedule

• PRN (as needed) position, working less than 20 hours per week.
• Quick Care hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
