Responsibilities

  • Support patient care by obtaining patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and preparing the patient for a physical exam
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

PRN Employment Expectations

  • PRN team members are not guaranteed a specific number of hours or shifts.
  • To maintain PRN status, employees are expected to work a minimum of two full shifts per month when available.
  • PRN team members are often contacted first when additional coverage is needed due to call-offs, vacations, or increased patient volume.
  • PRN positions are not eligible for company-sponsored benefits unless otherwise required by law or company policy.
