PRN LPN Pediatric

About the role

The PRN Licensed Practical Nurse Pediatric at David Raines Community Health Centers performs job duties on an "as needed" basis and provides patient care to children under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. The role focuses on basic needs and assisting with more complex procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administering medications and vaccinations
• Monitoring patients’ vital signs
• Aiding with diagnostic tests and procedures
• Providing wound care and dressing changes
• Conducting routine physical examinations
• Documenting patient information and medical records
• Education of patients and their families about health care practices
• Aiding with feeding and personal care needs
• Supporting pediatricians during examinations and treatments
• Maintaining a clean and safe patient environment
• Communicating effectively with the healthcare team
• Preparing and sterilizing medical equipment
• Responding to emergency situations
• Aids in performing clerical duties as needed

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing
• Minimum one year of experience in related duties
• Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Pediatric credentialed from the Louisiana Board of Nursing
• Current BLS/CPR card must be valid through employment
• FQHC or Healthcare experience
• Experience with electronic health records required, preferably NextGen or similar EHRs
