PRN Lactation Consultant/Maternal Educator

About the role

This is a PRN day shift position for a Lactation Consultant Maternal Educator at Cape Coral Hospital.

Responsibilities

- Focuses on assisting breast feeding mothers and infants. - Conducts comprehensive assessments related to lactation. - Provides education to clients on pregnancy, childbirth, lactation, and parenting. - Offers specialized services such as individual consultations, breastfeeding classes, and instruction in the use of breastfeeding assistive devices. - Serves as a resource for families, staff, and providers. - Advocates for breastfeeding while respecting infant feeding choices. - Provides care according to established clinical nursing standards. - Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.

Requirements

- Active IBCLC certification. - State of Florida Licensure. - Certified as per American Nursing Association and Florida Nurse Practice Act standards.

Qualifications

- Experience in maternal and infant care. - Knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity.
