Lactation Consultant PRN

About the role

We are seeking a PRN Nurse Lactation Consultant to support breastfeeding families by providing evidence-based education, hands-on assistance, and compassionate guidance.

Responsibilities

• Conducting individualized lactation assessments and education for parents and infants.
• Collaborating with healthcare team members to develop and implement feeding plans.
• Documenting consultations, tracking outcomes, and ensuring adherence to policies and best practices.
• Providing lactation management training for staff and ongoing education for interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Maryland RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or CLC; NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in maternal-newborn care.

Schedule

This role involves 12-hour shifts as needed.
