PRN/Contingent Hospice Registered Nurse

About the role

AdvisaCare is expanding its Hospice services at the Livonia office, supported by the Troy agency as the parent office. The organization seeks a PRN/Contingent Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) who is compassionate, dynamic, energetic, organized, and efficient, with hospice experience. The RN will provide emotional support to help patients live their final days with dignity and comfort, conduct supervisory visits, participate in interdisciplinary group meetings, and contribute to the development and revision of patient and family care plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical, functional, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
• Implement and revise individualized plans of care as needed.
• Ensure compliance with AdvisaCare Hospice policies, procedures, and Medicare regulations.
• Consult with and educate patients and families about disease processes, self‑care techniques, end‑of‑life care, and ethical concerns.
• Supervise paraprofessionals providing services to patients.
• Prepare clinical and progress notes and participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) conferences.
• Participate in the Hospice performance improvement program.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with clients, families, and caregivers.
• Communicate information using current processes and technology within the organization.

Requirements

• Current Michigan RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year hospice experience.
• Empathetic approach toward patients and caregivers.
• Ability to participate in daily field visits and weekly office meetings as indicated.
• Flexibility to adapt to patients' status and needs on a full‑time on‑call basis.

This is a PRN/Contingent position offering flexible scheduling and a full‑time on‑call basis.
