Prize Payments Supervisor
The California State Lottery is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise headquartered in Sacramento. It is one of the few state agencies that generates revenue without accepting taxpayer dollars from the state’s general fund. Our mission is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while supporting local communities. Ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by players goes back to local communities in contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes, and retailer compensation. In fiscal year 2023-24, the Lottery provided over $2 billion in supplemental funding for California public schools, bringing the total contributions to more than $46 billion since 1985.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and train staff in prize payment processing.
- Monitor workloads and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
- Review, edit, and provide feedback on staff work.
Qualifications
Desirable Qualifications
- Ability to meet and deal tactfully with the public and co-workers either in person or by phone.
- Supervisor or team-building (leadperson) experience.
- Experience in use of modern office methods, equipment, and general procedures.
- Experience working with computer applications, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience hiring, motivating, training, and ensuring that staff has the tools they need to do their jobs.
- Experience in time management and monitoring workload, adjusting staffing schedules as needed.
This position requires a current Supervising Program Technician II exam. If you need to take the exam or if your score has expired, you may gain list eligibility by completing the exam process.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This position is headquartered at the Sacramento HQ and is not eligible for telework.
