About the role
The Private Music Lesson Adjunct - Trumpet position at Olympic College is a part-time role offering private individual instruction in trumpet. The position is within the Social Sciences & Humanities Division and reports to the Dean of SSH.
Responsibilities
- Teach evening, distance, and in-person classes on the Bremerton and other campuses when requested;
- Provide quality teaching, including related preparation, grading, and record keeping;
- Provide class syllabi/guidelines to students enrolled in classes by the first day of classes and to the division office as requested;
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities to meet those needs;
- Punctually communicate with students, faculty, staff and administrators;
- Hold regularly scheduled private lessons for students for the schedule span of time enrolled (1/2 credit = ½ hr/week; 1 credit = 1 hr/week).
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in teaching or mentoring music students - specifically in area of desired instruction;
- Desired Qualifications: Master Degree in area of instruction, Two year teaching experience of private lessons - at the audit level, Ability to play and teach in both classical and jazz styles, Ability to teach lessons on other brass instruments (high brass and/or low brass).
