About the role

The Private Equity M&A Strategy & Diligence Manager role within Deloitte's Strategy & Transactions team focuses on guiding clients through critical moments and transformational initiatives. This includes comprehensive support and advisory services in areas like valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. The role involves leading teams through high-stakes diligences and coaching talent, working closely with PE deal teams to help clients win deals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver small complex strategic engagements or parts of larger engagements that help unlock value through inorganic growth and value creation.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including partnering with private equity clients, evaluating portfolio company operations, and developing recommendations.
  • Manage and review client deliverables, identify opportunities to leverage analytical capabilities, and effectively manage day-to-day relationships with team and client to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Participate in business development activities, mentor junior staff, and support delivery teams and staff in local offices.
  • Support the development of eminence and "point-of-view" publications.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6+ years of M&A or M&A Service Delivery experience, preferably in mid-market PE clients and portfolio companies.
  • Experience setting engagement objectives and scope, framing issues, and developing project work plans.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering engagements across all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, pre-close, and post-merger integration.
  • Experience managing service excellence by identifying key client business issues and determining client needs using innovative approaches.
  • Experience managing day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors and contributing to business development.
  • A Bachelor's degree and 6+ years in a strategy consulting practice or industry experience; alternatively, an MBA with 4+ years relevant work experience is acceptable.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
