About the role

The Private Equity M&A Strategy & Diligence Manager role within Deloitte's Strategy & Transactions team focuses on guiding clients through critical moments and transformational initiatives. This role involves leading teams through high-stakes diligences and coaching talent, working closely with PE deal teams to help clients win deals by leading fast diligences and building plans that get executed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver small complex strategic engagements or parts of larger engagements that help our clients unlock value through inorganic growth and value creation.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including partnering with private equity clients, evaluating portfolio company operations, and developing recommendations.
  • Manage and review client deliverables, identify opportunities to leverage analytical capabilities, and effectively manage day-to-day relationships with team and client to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Participate in business development activities, mentor junior staff, and support delivery teams and staff in local offices.
  • Support the development of eminence and "point-of-view" publications.

Requirements

  • A candidate must have 6+ years of M&A or M&A Service Delivery experience in mid-market PE clients and portfolio companies.
  • Experience setting engagement objectives and scope, framing issues, and designing deliverable content that reflects a high standard of analysis.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering engagements across all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, pre-close, and post-merger integration.
  • Experience managing service excellence by identifying key client business issues and determining client needs using innovative approaches.
  • Experience contributing to business development and proposal development.
  • A Bachelor's degree and 6+ years in a strategy consulting practice or industry experience, or an MBA with 4+ years relevant work experience.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA; PhD; JD; MD; Masters) preferred.
  • Experience at a top strategy consulting firm or private equity/M&A Strategy boutique consulting firm preferred.
  • Experience with staff development and mentoring junior practitioners.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS PowerPoint).

Pay

$155,600 to $306,800

Schedule

Flexible, with the possibility of up to 50% travel based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
