Private Equity Mergers & Acquisitions Strategy & Diligence Manager
About the role
The Private Equity M&A Strategy & Diligence Manager role within Deloitte's Strategy & Transactions team focuses on guiding clients through critical moments and transformational initiatives. This includes comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services in areas like valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver small complex strategic engagements or parts of larger engagements that help clients unlock value through inorganic growth and value creation.
- Contribute to the firm's growth and development by partnering with private equity clients on buy-side and sell-side inorganic opportunities, evaluating portfolio company operations, and deploying innovative value creation solutions.
- Evaluate and validate analysis and develop recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement.
- Manage and review the quality of client deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to leverage analytical capabilities in client delivery.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Build and sustain professional relationships with clients and team members.
- Lead projects or workstreams and effectively manage day-to-day relationships with team and client to ensure exceptional performance.
- Participate in business development activities and mentor junior staff.
- Support the development of eminence and "point-of-view" publications.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6+ years of M&A or M&A Service Delivery experience in mid-market PE clients and portfolio companies.
- Experience setting engagement objectives and scope, framing issues, developing project work plans, and managing cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage and deliver engagements across all phases of the M&A lifecycle including due diligence, pre-close, and post-merger integration.
- Experience managing day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS PowerPoint).
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree and 6+ years in a strategy consulting practice and/or industry experience, or an MBA with 4+ years relevant work experience.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
- Advanced degree (MBA; PhD; JD; MD; Masters) preferred.
- Experience with staff development and mentoring junior practitioners.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $155,600 to $306,800, taking into account the wide range of factors that influence compensation decisions.
Schedule
Travel up to 50% based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
