About the role

The Private Equity M&A Strategy & Diligence Manager role within Deloitte's Strategy & Transactions team focuses on guiding clients through critical moments and transformational initiatives. This includes comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services in areas like valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver small complex strategic engagements or parts of larger engagements that help clients unlock value through inorganic growth and value creation.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth and development by partnering with private equity clients on buy-side and sell-side inorganic opportunities, evaluating portfolio company operations, and deploying innovative value creation solutions.
  • Evaluate and validate analysis and develop recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement.
  • Manage and review the quality of client deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage analytical capabilities in client delivery.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Build and sustain professional relationships, effectively manage day-to-day relationships with team and client to ensure exceptional performance, and participate in business development activities.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide clear guidance to others.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6+ years of M&A or M&A Service Delivery experience in mid-market PE clients and portfolio companies.
  • Experience setting engagement objectives and scope, framing issues, developing project work plans, and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, JD, MD, Masters) preferred, with at least 50% of time spent advising PE clients.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS PowerPoint).
