We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in the Real Estate and Investment Management industry. This is a permanent, hybrid position offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.
About the role
This position is critical to our business and requires a professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong Fund Accounting background, public accounting experience, a CPA, and/or property/real estate accounting. This hybrid role requires 1-2 days per week in the office and offers locations in Annapolis, MD, Washington, DC, or Baltimore, MD.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial close.
- Oversee the maintenance of investor capital accounts and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of fund accounting, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
- Handle foreign exchange entries and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and make recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
- Manage and monitor the company's assets, ensuring they are correctly valued and accounted for.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the management team, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax filings and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting management role, preferably in the Mortgage, Real Estate, or Investment Management industry.
- Proven experience with fund accounting, fund management, asset management, and maintaining investor capital accounts.
- Strong knowledge of foreign exchange entries and financial close procedures.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay
$125,000 - $150,000 per year plus a 15% bonus.
