About the role

The Private Equity Fund Services (PEFS) Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of private equity client deliverables, including quarterly financial reporting, capital call and distribution calculations and related notices, carried interest calculations, management fees, and other complex fee calculations. This role reviews fund liquidity and treasury requests, handles ad-hoc investor relations requests, and serves as an escalation point for both internal employees and clients. The PEFS Manager manages client relationships, provides leadership and guidance to the team, and ensures compliance with regulatory and fund-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and review the preparation and distribution of quarterly financial statements and investor capital statements to fund investors.
• Oversee and review the preparation of schedules supporting general ledger balances in quarterly financial statements.
• Oversee and review the preparation and distribution of capital call and distribution notices, ensuring adherence to the Fund's Operating Agreement.
• Interpret terms within a Fund's Operating Agreement and calculate complex waterfall structures and carried interest.
• Calculate and review management fees owed to the management company, ensuring timely payment.
• Communicate directly with the Fund's General Partners or Managers, responding promptly to requests and providing requested information.
• Complete required regulatory forms to ensure fund compliance with debt covenants, regulations, and other provisions in the Operating Agreement.
• Review investment agreements to confirm purchases and sales align with cash movements at the Fund level.
• Interact with auditors, providing reports and support for year-end audits and completing audit confirmations.
• Multitask between client deliverables, internal demands, and various tasks throughout the day.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and coaching to the team, including regular training and support.
• Update job knowledge through educational opportunities, internal training, and professional development.
• Serve as a technical resource for team members on client questions, processes, and procedures.
• Conduct ongoing team trainings and provide input on training opportunities at a global company level.
• Demonstrate leadership across the team and organization, serving as an escalation point for internal and client matters.
• Assist and lead new business development objectives as needed.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Accounting or a related field.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience, including performance management, coaching, staff management, training, talent acquisition, and retention.
• Experience with commercial real estate fund accounting; exposure to property-level and ownership accounting preferred.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Advanced degree (MBA or MSA) in Accounting or a related field strongly preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strongly preferred.
• Experience in forecasting and budgeting during accelerated growth periods.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Investran or other private equity accounting software is a plus.
• Strong multitasking, time management, attention to detail, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with Investran or Yardi preferred.

Pay

The pay rate range for this position is $99,000 to $191,260. Actual compensation is influenced by skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
