About the role

The Private Equity Fund Services (PEFS) Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of private equity client deliverables, including quarterly financial reporting, capital call and distribution calculations and notices, carried interest calculations, management fees, fund liquidity and treasury requests, and ad-hoc investor relations requests. This role manages client relationships, serves as an escalation point for internal employees and clients, and provides leadership, guidance, and training to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and review the preparation and distribution of quarterly financial statements and investor capital statements.
  • Oversee and review schedules supporting general ledger balances reported in quarterly financial statements.
  • Oversee and review the preparation and distribution of capital call and distribution notices, ensuring adherence to the Fund's Operating Agreement.
  • Interpret terms within a Fund's Operating Agreement and calculate complex waterfall structures and carried interest.
  • Calculate and review management fees owed to the management company, ensuring timely payment.
  • Communicate directly with Fund General Partners or Managers to respond promptly to requests and provide information.
  • Complete regulatory forms to ensure compliance with debt covenants, regulations, and other provisions in the Fund's Operating Agreement.
  • Review investment agreements to confirm purchases and sales align with cash movements at the Fund level.
  • Interact with auditors, provide reports and support for year-end audits, and complete audit confirmations.
  • Multi-task between client deliverables, internal demands, and various tasks throughout the day.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, coaching, and training to the team.
  • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities, internal training, and professional development.
  • Serve as a resource for technical questions and team processes, conducting ongoing team trainings.
  • Provide daily leadership across the team and organization, serving as an escalation point for internal and client matters.
  • Assist and lead new business development objectives.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant experience in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience, including performance management, coaching, staff management, training, talent acquisition, and retention.
  • Experience with commercial real estate fund accounting; exposure to property-level and ownership accounting preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or MSA) strongly preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license strongly preferred.
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting during accelerated growth periods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Investran or other private equity accounting software is a plus.
  • Strong multitasking, time management, attention to detail, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for professional interaction with clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with Investran or Yardi preferred.

Pay

The pay rate range for this position is $99,000 to $191,260. Actual compensation is influenced by skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
