About the role

The Private Client Associate plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to Private Banking clients. This position requires a high level of customer service, product knowledge, and relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an understanding of all Nicolet Bank services and products.
  • Answer all calls and emails in a prompt manner.
  • Follow through on all client and private banker requests.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with private banking clients, prospective clients, private bankers, internal partners, operations, and underwriting.
  • Primary contact for daily maintenance of accounts and acts as a backup to the private banker for loan closings for well-established client relationships.
  • Opens and maintains new personal and business accounts including checking, savings, certificates of deposit, health savings accounts, and individual retirement accounts.
  • Orders ATM and Debit cards, checks, foreign currency, and wires domestic and international funds accurately, safely, and promptly as needed.
  • Understands proper account titling to ensure no disruption to client estate plans.
  • Enters mortgage and consumer loan applications, conducts credit checks, and collects all underwriting documentation.
  • Aid clients in managing risks associated with their accounts to prevent unauthorized activity and fraud exposure.
  • Review and monitor loan and CD renewal lists.
  • Maintain internal customer file integrity.
  • Attend department meetings and trainings, and continue to develop knowledge of Private Banking policies, procedures, products, and customer base.
  • Assist in coordinating customer events and outings.
  • Avoid compliance and regulatory requirements to help mitigate risk to the bank and client accounts.
  • Participate in community boards, committees, and other volunteer activities to network and build your book of business.
  • Join the Private Client Advisors on annual meetings and may act as the lead relationship manager on a small set of clients.
  • Uphold Nicolet’s philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of services provided by Nicolet.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or similar program preferred.
  • 1-3 years in banking, finance, or investment environment.
  • Proficient use of PC, phone system, general office equipment.
  • Ability to learn, apply, and train on new software applications.
  • Exceptional Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging customer situations.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of making decisions with limited direction.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of bank products and ability to cross-sell when appropriate.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
