Collaborate with Private Banking Relationship Managers across the footprint on deal structure, underwriting efforts, loan covenant compliance, exception reporting, past dues, and construction progress to ensure loan draws are funded and loan documentation is accurate. Provide limited administrative support to the Private Banking team as required.
Responsibilities
- Practice loan portfolio management through project analysis, loan underwriting, risk analysis, risk rating, packaging and presentation, renewal processing, loan documentation preparation and closing, collateral analysis, and past-due notice management.
- Work with Audit, Loan Review, and the OCC as needed.
- Monitor loan compliance covenants, exceptions, past dues, and construction progress to ensure loan draws are funded and documented.
- Provide excellent customer service to all clients, internally and externally.
- Use experience-based expertise to answer questions regarding policies, procedures, processes, and systems related to loan administration, platform systems (B2B/ACTion/LoanFlow/Atlas/M&I/LaserPro), compliance requirements, and general commercial or consumer lending.
- Gather information and prepare loan applications, disburse loan advances, quote payoffs, order credit reports, pull financial statements, collect and review documentation for accuracy and compliance, work with Private Bankers on collateral releases, complete UCC filings, and manage Letters of Credit and sweep accounts.
- Assist Private Banking Officers with portfolio management, including resolving and monitoring loan covenants and credit exceptions, preparing financial analysis forms, and other supporting documentation for loan compliance.
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, preparing correspondence, memos, reports, and loan maintenance requests.
- Adhere to the Sundown rule.
- Make referrals to create cross-sell opportunities for bank products and services tailored to high-net-worth clients.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma (required).
- Minimum of three years of commercial lending/credit experience.
- Actively involved in preparation and completion of loan applications and documents, as well as loan portfolio maintenance.
- Knowledge of loan workflows and processes.
- Developed understanding of lending and credit approval processes, bank policies, and external regulations.
- Detailed knowledge of credit analysis practice and procedure.
- Ability to process and monitor loan applications accurately.
- Knowledge of various bank departments and Private Banking/Wealth Management organizational structure.
- Intermediate problem-solving skills.
- Advanced word processing and spreadsheet abilities.
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build relationships.
- Ability to interact with external and internal customers.
- Commercial banking experience (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience (preferred).
Level II Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience (expected).
- Minimum of five years of commercial lending/credit experience.
- Advanced knowledge of loan workflows and processes.
- Fully developed understanding of lending and credit approval processes, bank policies, and external regulations.
- Expert knowledge of Private Banking and Wealth Management organizational structure and departments serving high-net-worth clientele.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screens.
