Commercial/Private Banking Portfolio Manager

Primary Purpose

Aid the loan officers in managing and monitoring their loan portfolio, including loan underwriting for new and existing members, and member interactions. Perform various member service tasks and assignments as required.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist loan officers with the loan approval process by obtaining and analyzing financials, preparing loan summaries and packages for approval.
  • Attend outside prospect and member meetings as necessary.
  • Monitor the maturing loan report and assist loan officers and administrative officers in underwriting loans for renewal, including requesting necessary financial information and completing LCA's for temporary extensions.
  • Manage past dues, inputting both new loans and renewals to UN/FY, and complete quarterly Problem Asset Reports for review and approval.
  • Assist with managing credit monitoring items and Priority 1 exceptions.
  • Learn about the bank's products and services to identify cross-selling opportunities and assist loan officers and administrative officers as needed.
  • Work on special projects to enhance loan portfolio management efficiency within the region.
  • Proactively build strong partnerships with business partners and work independently with loan officers to understand closing requirements and clear exceptions as needed.
  • Adhere to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations, including AML and BSA.

Minimum Required Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent member service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional interaction with internal and external members.
  • Complete understanding of TowneBank lending culture and philosophy.
  • Satisfactory completion of Credit and Small Business rotation or equivalent financial analysis and underwriting experience.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively across various internal departments.
  • Previous lending experience or experience in loan operations.
  • Knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Computer skills (Word and Excel).

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • College degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Knowledge of UN/FY.

Physical Requirements

Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally. Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time. Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
