Privacy/Cybersecurity Associate Attorney

We are seeking a mid-level Privacy/Cybersecurity Associate Attorney to join our respected regional law firm. This hybrid role can be based in our Grand Rapids or Detroit-area offices, with a salary range of $150,000–$180,000 depending on class year.

About the role

You will advise clients on privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, and emerging technology matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on privacy and cybersecurity compliance programs, including state, federal, and global regulatory requirements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate data privacy, technology, vendor, licensing, and commercial agreements.
• Prepare privacy policies, data governance documentation, cybersecurity guidance, and client-facing compliance materials.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical counsel on privacy, cybersecurity, technology, and mobility-related issues.
• Support incident response matters, regulatory inquiries, and evolving compliance strategies.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law.
