Printer Mechanic

Job Description

The Printer Mechanic role is responsible for maintaining production equipment in the printer area and responding to trouble calls as needed.

• Follows all documented safety, quality, and maintenance procedures.
• Performs printer general maintenance.
• Utilizes quarterbacking to facilitate changeovers.
• Supports production in all areas to troubleshoot and address problems.
• Maintains spare parts inventory.
• Documents daily maintenance activity.
• Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
• Maintains effective communication with operators and plant supervision.
• Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
• Maintains excellent safety record.
• Maintains an excellent attendance record.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Demonstrated industrial maintenance experience. At least two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including successful completion of jobs or similar activities. Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures. Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); Maintenance Connection experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include, but are not limited to: Standing for lengthy periods (frequent) Sitting for extended periods (frequent) Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional) Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent) Working Conditions An individual who works in the Printer Mechanic position: Must be physically able to lift to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and work in a hot/cold environment. Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour schedule. Must have a basic knowledge of hand and power tools. Must have personal tools up to one (1) inch.
