About the role

Description Music Subscription and Identity org acts as the backbone of Amazon Music by powering the identity, subscription, and payments systems that underpin growth, retention, and profitability. We undertake Amazon-wide initiatives which are foundational to Music's long-term growth. Identity org will unify customer identity across Amazon, reshaping how customers and households share content and benefits. For Music, this ensures seamless access across Alexa, Prime, and AMU. We will deliver child and teen profiles that are compliant, safe, and trusted. Subscription org will support Music's launch in new countries and expand our acquisition funnels improving payment parity and building efficient purchase flows. We will deepen our lifecycle strategy, ensuring customers find value from their first play through last mile. Personalization will improve early-use stickiness, cancellation flows will evolve into benefit-rich retention moments, and payments will become more resilient to prevent involuntary churn.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive significant business impact
  • Navigate ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver results at scale across multiple organizations
  • Operate with complete independence and often assigned to focus on areas where the business and/or architectural strategy has not yet been defined
  • Partner with all levels of leadership to build consensus
  • Represent, verbally and in writing, complex decisions, technical trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to leaders up to 3 levels above to help them understand the decisions they have to make and what options they have
  • Influence organization priorities, system owners, business, and technology direction
  • Manage cross-functional communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed and needs aligned
  • Recognize when current programs are susceptible to prior technology failure patterns and actively steer teams to avoid repeating these failures
  • Know when a design or solution requires additional technical guidance (e.g., from senior engineers or subject matter experts)
  • Show excellent judgment in driving executive-level escalations
  • Deliver solutions that meet Amazon high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence

Requirements

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience, 7+ years of technical product or program management experience, 5+ years of software development experience, Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems, Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience, Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
