About the role

OneTrust is seeking a Principal Technical Trainer and Content Developer to lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact technical education for customers and partners in a fast-moving, release-driven SaaS environment. This is a senior-level individual contributor role for a highly experienced education professional who excels at both facilitating live technical training and creating scalable, digital-first learning content that drives adoption, self-sufficiency, and measurable business outcomes. This role operates at the intersection of technical training, content strategy, instructional design, and rapid content development, translating complex product capabilities into clear, persona and use-case-driven learning experiences across a global audience.

CX Global Education is a digital-first organization. This role ensures education is release synchronous, modular, scalable, and outcome-driven, enabling customers and partners to achieve value faster, operate with confidence, and maximize platform adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver education across solution-aligned learning tracks, including:
    • Technical training facilitation (ILT/VILT)
    • Full-course content development
    • Release-synchronous updates and delta training
    • Hands-on lab design for real-world workflows
    • Microlearning and modular content creation
    • Assessment development aligned to learner outcomes
    • Cross-functional partnership with Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, Marketing, and Legal
    • AI-enabled content acceleration
    • Operational execution within release timelines
  • Deliver instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training for customers and partners using persona, use-case, and workflow-based instruction focused on real-world application.
  • Guide learners through completing tasks, troubleshooting issues, and applying best practices in the platform.
  • Adapt delivery for technical, global, and mixed-experience audiences.
  • Design, build, and maintain full-course technical learning content across digital and live formats.
  • Convert product, SME, and release-driven inputs into scalable learning experiences.
  • Structure content using the standard: Persona → Use Case → Workflow → Best Practices → Tips/Tricks/Techniques → Pitfalls → Troubleshooting.
  • Ensure a strong “show me how” approach with clear workflow-based instruction.
  • Create and maintain instructor materials and learner resources.
  • Develop modular, reusable content patterns to improve speed, consistency, and scalability.
  • Build release-synchronous and delta training that clearly communicates: what changed, why it matters, and how to apply it.
  • Design and maintain hands-on labs aligned to repetitive workflows, common failure points, and real-world customer and partner scenarios.
  • Reinforce practical skill development during and after training to enable learner confidence and self-sufficiency.
  • Create assessments aligned to course objectives and real-world application, including scenario-based knowledge checks and applied learning activities.
  • Use learner feedback, delivery insights, and support trends to identify gaps and improve content.
  • Operate within a seasonal release cycle, including impact assessment and content updates.
  • Evaluate product changes and determine training impact across learning tracks.
  • Update training assets in alignment with release timelines and delivery needs.
  • Contribute to post-release measurement and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, Marketing, and Legal to ensure content accuracy and alignment.
  • Translate complex functionality into clear, outcome-driven learning experiences.
  • Partner with education stakeholders to ensure consistency and quality across the portfolio.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate content development, including drafting modules, generating scenarios, and summarizing release changes.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, clarity, and consistency.
  • Manage work through structured processes, including writing clear requirements, tracking dependencies, and delivering on schedule.
  • Balance multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced, release-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical training, instructional design, or course development in SaaS or enterprise software environments.

  • Experience creating customer-facing education (not internal-only training).
  • Strong ability to translate complex product functionality into clear, actionable learning experiences.
  • Experience building hands-on labs and workflow-based training.
  • Experience developing assessments aligned to learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Strong project execution skills and ability to manage work across timelines and dependencies.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate in high-volume, release-driven environments.
  • Experience in SaaS customer or partner enablement.
  • Experience supporting certification programs and structured learning tracks.
  • Familiarity with agile and rapid content development methodologies.
