About The Job

The TAM is part of the SAS Public Sector Medicaid account sales team and jointly owns responsibility with the sales team to grow the business. The Technical Account Manager (TAM) serves as the primary technical liaison between two existing state Medicaid customers, South Carolina and Wisconsin, and internal SAS teams and is responsible for maximizing these customers’ success with SAS software. This role is critical for ensuring technical alignment across diverse business units and for supporting strategic initiatives such as platform modernization, AI enablement, and cloud migration. The TAM advises both client and sales teams on technical matters to drive revenue, increase profit margin, and ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction. Knowledgeable in the healthcare industry, data management, analytics, security and compliance, and cloud technology. Showcases ability to align client challenges and user needs to solutions and advise project teams throughout ongoing service engagements.

Location: Remote (Wisconsin)

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical and program activities, providing guidance, issue resolution, and strategic support for Medicaid clients.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor and advocate for Wisconsin and South Carolina Medicaid accounts.
  • Deliver proactive recommendations and oversee contract, deliverable, and status reporting.
  • Present solution demonstrations, whiteboarding sessions, and executive-level presentations aligned to client needs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand SAS adoption, including cloud, SaaS, and advanced deployment solutions.
  • Partner with sales teams on account strategy and provide solution leadership throughout the sales cycle.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and Account Executives to drive value and customer success.
  • Lead discovery sessions and document business requirements to support solution design and implementation.
  • Gather functional and technical requirements to develop tailored client solutions.
  • Leverage competitive market insights to strengthen proposals and client presentations.
  • Maintain expertise in SAS products and solution offerings through ongoing training.
  • Collaborate across sales, architecture, R&D, and support teams to drive opportunities and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to influence future product and solution development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of technical account management, solution delivery, or technical presales experience, with at least 7 years with directing, managing or being key personnel on Medicaid enterprise systems and/or Medicaid data analytics platforms.
  • 7+ years of sales or pre-sales experience with clear understanding of sales strategies and cycles.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare IT environments including cloud infrastructure, data management, analytics, and compliance.
  • Experience leading cloud transformations, including a strong understanding of enterprise architecture, governance, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Travel as needed up to 50%.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
