Principal Systems Engineer, Radar Analyst Onsite

Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join the Systems Integration & Test Long Range Radars Department within the Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities Directorate. This role supports X-Band Radar technology, including radar data analysis and systems integration activities at our Woburn, MA location. The position involves scenario development, testing, data analysis, support to software development and systems engineering teams, and customer presentations.
About the Role
This onsite role requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance on day one. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Participate in integration and test planning/execution, verification/validation events, and scenario-based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
- Complete system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
- Execute integration plans and testing activities according to defined milestones and schedules.
- Integrate and test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility for integration, verification, test, and data analysis activities.
- Collaborate with cross-program leads/stakeholders to generate test approaches, ensure test-setup readiness, and participate in key processes (peer, gate, and test readiness reviews).
- Confirm test and evaluation processes are conducted according to established procedures for software and hardware, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense technology release and export licensing policies.
- Support local and non-local travel (10%), including experience with domestic and foreign military sales products.
- Lead integration/testing efforts and present results to internal/external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, and/or other programming languages.
- Experience with systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation, and/or system testing.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience using String/HWIL test equipment, RF electronic hardware configuration and installation, software installations, and integrating or regression testing radar systems.
- Certifications in CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+.
- Experience with MATLAB, Linux Operating Systems (Linux Red Hat), Unix, and Shell scripting for integration, verification, test, and data analysis.
- Experience creating integration test procedures, test plans, test scripts, and maintaining configuration control documentation.
- Experience with agile and DevSecOps processes, including daily standup meetings, sprint reviews, Program Increment (PI) Planning, retrospectives, and agile tooling such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong integration skills, knowledge of radar algorithms, radar signal processing concepts, theory, modeling, and determining radar performance.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range reflects all experience levels, with consideration for role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Schedule
This is an onsite role. Employees in onsite roles work primarily at the designated location. Candidates may be asked to attend select interview steps in-person at one of our office locations.
