Principal Systems Engineer, Radar System Integrator Onsite

Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our Systems Integration & Test Long Range Radars Department within the Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities Directorate. This role supports X-Band Radar technology, including radar data analysis and systems integration activities at our Woburn, MA location. The position involves supporting systems data analysis, integration tasks, scope planning, milestone creation, and managing competing priorities.
About the role
This onsite role requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance on day one, with U.S. citizenship mandatory. The position involves 10% local and non-local travel, including support for domestic and foreign military sales products.
Responsibilities
- Participate in integration and test planning/execution, verification/validation events, and scenario-based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
- Complete system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
- Execute integration plans and testing activities according to defined tasks, milestones, and schedules.
- Integrate and test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility for integration, verification, test, and data analysis activities.
- Collaborate with cross-program leads/stakeholders to generate test approaches, ensure test-setup readiness, and participate in key processes (peer, gate, and test readiness reviews).
- Confirm test and evaluation processes are conducted according to established procedures for software and hardware, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense technology release and export licensing policies.
- Lead integration/testing efforts and present results to internal/external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux, Unix, and/or other programming languages.
- Experience with systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation, and/or system testing.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience using String/HWIL test equipment, RF electronic hardware configuration and installation, software installations, and integrating or regression testing radar systems.
- Certifications in CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+.
- Experience with MATLAB, Linux (Red Hat), Unix, and Shell scripting for integration, verification, test, and data analysis.
- Experience creating integration test procedures, test plans, test scripts, and maintaining configuration control documentation.
- Experience with agile and DevSecOps processes, including daily standups, sprint reviews, PI Planning, retrospectives, and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong integration skills, knowledge of radar algorithms, radar signal processing concepts, theory, modeling, and radar performance determination.
- Team interaction and collaboration skills.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
