Senior Systems Engineer, Radar Analyst Onsite

About the role

Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our Systems Integration & Test Long Range Radars Department within the Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities Directorate. This role supports X-Band Radar technology, including radar data analysis and systems integration activities at our Woburn, MA location. The individual will contribute to systems data analysis, integration tasks, scope planning, milestone creation, and schedule management while working with competing priorities. Daily activities include scenario development, testing, data analysis, support to software development and systems engineering teams, and customer presentations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in integration and test planning/execution, verification/validation events, and scenario-based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
• Complete system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
• Execute integration plans and testing activities according to defined tasks, milestones, and schedules.
• Integrate and test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility for integration, verification, test, and data analysis activities.
• Collaborate with cross-program leads/stakeholders to generate test approaches, ensure test-setup readiness, and participate in key processes (peer, gate, and test readiness reviews).
• Confirm test and evaluation processes are conducted according to established procedures for software and hardware, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense technology release and export licensing policies.
• Willingness for 10% local and non-local travel, including experience with domestic and foreign military sales products.

Requirements

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux, Unix, and/or other programming languages.
• Experience with systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation, and/or system testing.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience using String/HWIL test equipment, radio frequency (RF) electronic hardware configuration and installation, software installations, and integrating or regression testing radar systems with certifications in CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with MATLAB, Linux Operating Systems (Linux Red Hat), Unix, and Shell scripting for integration, verification, test, and data analysis.
• Experience creating integration test procedures, test plans, test scripts, developing and maintaining configuration control documentation, and navigating test setups.
• Experience with agile and DevSecOps processes, including implementing or maintaining agile methodologies, participating in daily standup meetings, sprint reviews, Program Increment (PI) Planning meetings, retrospectives, and using agile tooling such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Support execution of the team’s backlog, including performance analysis and issue investigation.
• Strong integration skills, knowledge of radar algorithms, radar signal processing concepts, theory, modeling, and determining radar performance.
• Strong team interaction skills.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

This is an onsite role. Employees in onsite roles work primarily at the designated location. Candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of the role’s designation.
