Principal Solutions Architect - Private Equity , Global Private Equity Solution Architects
About the role
AWS Global Sales drives adoption of the AWS cloud worldwide, enabling customers of all sizes to innovate and expand in the cloud. Our team empowers every customer to grow by providing tailored service, unmatched technology, and consistent support. We dive deep to understand each customer's unique challenges, then craft innovative solutions that accelerate their success. This role focuses on helping the largest Private Equity (PE) firms and their portfolio companies leverage generative AI and cloud technology to improve operations, accelerate value creation, and drive EBITDA growth. You will work directly with PE firms, their portfolio companies, and consulting partners to drive adoption of technology, including generative AI, agentic AI, and foundation-model-based solutions, to achieve operational and financial business outcomes.
You will provide thought leadership on how generative AI reshapes cost structures, "AI tokenomics," and operating leverage across a PE portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a technical background enabling engagement with business, finance, or IT executives at the highest levels of PE customers, with the ability to communicate the benefits of cloud computing and generative AI to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Private Equity leaders and portfolio company executives to develop and execute cloud transformation strategies that drive value creation and align with investment theses.
- Provide technical leadership across portfolio companies' cloud initiatives, including architecture reviews, technology stack optimization, and application modernization.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to PE firm leadership on technology due diligence, value creation opportunities, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Drive standardization and best practices across portfolio companies by establishing cloud centers of excellence and developing reusable architecture patterns.
- Guide portfolio company technical leaders on technology roadmap development, cloud migration strategies, and infrastructure automation.
- Identify and implement GenAI solutions to enhance operational efficiency, create new revenue streams, and drive innovation across portfolio companies.
- Increase awareness of Amazon's cloud computing and generative AI business value proposition within PE firms' portfolio companies.
- Engage systems integration and M&A advisory partners, and drive technical relationships with PE thought leaders to create new opportunity pipelines.
- Enable the AWS Business Development and Sales teams to drive day-to-day interactions with key prospects.
- Shape how AWS's GenAI stack, including Amazon Bedrock, foundation models, and agentic and Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) motions, is positioned within the PE segment.
- Contribute to the PE technology community through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and industry forum participation, focusing on emerging technologies and value creation through cloud and AI adoption.
GenAI Fluency (Key Differentiator)
- Demonstrated fluency with generative AI concepts and the ability to translate them into business value for PE firms and their portfolio companies (cost takeout, revenue growth, operating leverage, and "AI tokenomics").
- Hands-on familiarity with the modern GenAI stack: foundation models, Amazon Bedrock, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI patterns, model selection/routing, and open-weight vs. proprietary model trade-offs.
- Ability to advise C-level and technical audiences on responsible AI, data strategy, security, and governance for enterprise-grade GenAI deployments.
- Experience shaping or supporting AI-driven transformation and Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) style engagements that put GenAI into production at scale.
