About the role

The position is listed on behalf of a partner company managing all applications and next steps. Our partner is seeking a Principal Product Designer based in the United States, focused on shaping the future of financial technology experiences within a rapidly growing digital platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex product design initiatives, shaping strategy and delivering exceptional user experiences across financial technology products.
  • Partner closely with product managers, engineers, data teams, and business stakeholders to define and deliver impactful product experiences.
  • Translate complex financial and business challenges into simple, intuitive, and scalable user experiences.
  • Drive design strategy for fintech products, including payment experiences, spend management solutions, billing workflows, and card-related experiences.
  • Conduct design reviews, improve feedback processes, and establish frameworks that support better product decisions.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles while balancing business objectives, technical constraints, and customer needs.
  • Raise the quality bar across the design organization by mentoring designers and promoting strong design practices.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure consistency, usability, and excellence throughout the product ecosystem.
  • Explore emerging technologies, including AI-powered design tools, to improve workflows and accelerate innovation.

Requirements

  • Experienced product designer with deep expertise in fintech products, strong UX capabilities, and a proven ability to lead complex 0-to-1 product initiatives.
  • Extensive experience designing fintech products, particularly in areas such as spend management, card issuing, payments, billing, or financial platforms.
  • Strong UX foundation with demonstrated experience creating new products and solving complex user problems.
  • Advanced skills in visual design, interaction design, and user experience design with a focus on simplicity and usability.
  • Prominent ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, executives, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to shape design strategy and influence product direction at an organizational level.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, design systems, and emerging AI-powered design technologies.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly explain design decisions and strategic thinking.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality product work, including relevant fintech projects.
  • Able to operate independently, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
