Principal Product Designer, Business Intelligence for QuickBooks and Mid-Market
About the role
Intuit is on a mission to help small and mid-market businesses grow with us as their business grows. A key element is evolving Business Intelligence across QuickBooks and Intuit Enterprise Suite to provide business leaders, from solo entrepreneurs to CFOs, with a constant understanding of their business performance and actionable insights to increase revenue and profitability. We seek a visionary Principal Product Designer with excellent craft skills, cross-functional experience, and expertise in data-driven design to shape the business intelligence ecosystem. You will partner cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, data analysts, and marketers to transform static analytics dashboards into proactive, personalized, and agentic experiences across QuickBooks and Intuit Enterprise Suite.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Design Leadership:
- Define and drive the design vision for the highest priority Business Intelligence initiatives; guide and influence strategic direction across partner teams; align with Intuit's overall strategy and business goals
- Raise the bar for design craft and product standards, promoting consistency and excellence within the product domain
- Work with design and product leaders to shape the future of Business Intelligence products across QuickBooks and Intuit Enterprise Suite
- Design Execution and Innovation:
- Lead design for complex, cross-functional efforts, from concept to launch
- Use AI tools to build evocative prototypes; establish and evolve design patterns and specifications based on solid design rationale to drive clarity and cohesion within customer experiences
- Explore and implement innovative solutions through emerging native AI patterns and capabilities
- Storytelling and Communication:
- Articulate design concepts and rationale through compelling presentations and narratives
- Influence and inspire cross-functional teams and leadership through effective storytelling
- Facilitate design artifacts, shares, workshops and critiques to drive alignment across leadership as well as both design and product teams
- Mentorship and Influence:
- Mentor and guide staff and senior designers, fostering their professional development
- Establish yourself as a thought leader within the design community, both internally and externally
- Drive adoption of best practices, and new design
Qualifications
- 13+ years of experience in product design, preferably in a large-scale products
- Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels
- Expert in design systems, interaction design, and visual craft
- Proven track record of leading and delivering impactful design solutions across large and complex products and platforms
- Able to convey holistic ideas and concepts through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping
- A portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and a mastery of craft
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and influence other designers, product management, marketing, and engineering leaders to drive outcomes
- Exceptional ability to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions, identify opportunities, and measure outcomes
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams across functions
