We seek bold, innovative thinkers to join our Space Systems Sector as a Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2 or 3) with a background in conformal coating. This role supports our Launch Systems group, focusing on developing solutions for our coating area.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, support, and sustain Manufacturing Engineering System (MES) work instructions for new production programs.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders in the design and production lifecycle to ensure manufacturing processes are integrated early.
  • Design, test, and validate conformal coatings for electronic assemblies across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate coating technologies into system designs.
  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and quality control.
  • Conduct failure analysis of coated parts and troubleshoot issues related to adhesion, corrosion resistance, or other performance criteria.
  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Optimize machine and equipment arrangements within plant facilities for efficiency and productivity.
  • Specify sequences of operations and procedures for tool fabrication and other functions affecting product performance.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans.
  • Inspect machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency; investigate and resolve deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and related techniques.
  • Provide guidance to engineering teams on design concepts and specification requirements to optimize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures comply with regulations.

This role may be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3, with responsibilities scaling accordingly.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications for Level 2

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering System (MES).
  • Experience with Electronics Manufacturing and Conformal Coating.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering System (MES).
  • Experience with Electronics Manufacturing and Conformal Coating.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Active DoD security clearance or higher.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or other emerging technologies.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Readiness Assessments & Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRA/MRL).
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Definition (MBD) concepts, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Schedule

We work a 9/80 schedule: 9 hours per day Monday through Thursday, 8 hours every other Friday, with the alternate Friday off.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00. Base salary offers consider factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differentials, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director positions may qualify for Long Term Incentives.
