Principal IT Analyst - Advanced Planning Systems (APS) & SIOP
About the role
As a Principal IT Analyst – APS & SIOP in PT, you will lead and manage the Advanced Planning Systems and Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) Systems. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our planning and execution technology landscape, ensuring systems are optimized for performance, reliability, and business alignment.
Responsibilities
Set the strategic vision and roadmap for the Advanced Planning System (APS) landscape, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Honeywell’s technology standards.
Oversee analysis, design, configuration, and optimization of planning processes (demand planning, supply planning, rough-cut capacity, detailed scheduling, inventory optimization, and SIOP cadence).
Ensure strong integration between planning systems, SAP ERP (S/4HANA or ECC, specifically the PP/DS module), manufacturing execution system (MES), and analytics platforms.
Establish and govern the SIOP technology solution with business stakeholders—standard calendars, inputs/outputs, data readiness, and decision forums.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to gather requirements, define solution options, and implement scalable, fit-to-standard solutions.
Own end-to-end delivery for APS initiatives including scope, timeline, resources, budget, vendor management, and risk mitigation.
Drive best practices for change management, process transformation and testing (E2E scenarios, UAT, BOAT), including readiness assessments and cutover planning.
Define and maintain security roles and data governance for planning master data (locations, products, BOMs, routings, resources, lead times).
Develop and deliver training and enablement for super users and end users; champion adoption and continuous improvement.
Establish KPIs and dashboards for plan quality, bias, forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory turns, and schedule adherence; use insights to drive improvements.
Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery plans for APS and dependent integrations.
Manage incident/problem management and senior-level support for planning and SIOP processes.
Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, safety, and innovation within the team.
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including people management, delivering planning and/or supply chain technology solutions.
Strong SAP skills (S/4HANA or ECC) with deep understanding of core modules and integration points relevant to planning (MM, SD, QM, FI/CO, PP/DM).
Demonstrated success leading APS and/or digital SIOP initiatives from strategy through deployment and stabilization.
Familiarity with regulatory, quality, and data governance standards applicable to enterprise planning and manufacturing.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations, or related fields.
Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills.
Experience documenting current state processes and analyzing the changes associated with the to be state.
Proven track record managing teams, budgets, roadmaps, and vendors in a global environment.
Experience with APS concepts and tools (e.g., forecasting, multi-echelon inventory optimization, finite capacity scheduling) while remaining platform-agnostic.
Certification and/or experience with project and service management (e.g., PMP, ITIL, SAFe, Six Sigma) and agile delivery practices.
Hands-on experience integrating planning with manufacturing execution and analytics; familiarity with data modeling and master data stewardship.
Ability to simplify complex planning concepts and communicate effectively with executives and operations teams.
Knowledge of emerging trends in supply chain planning, scenario modeling, and AI/ML-enabled planning.
