Principal Engineering Project Manager - Data Center Mission Critical
ENERCON’s Data Center Mission Critical Group is seeking a Principal Engineering Project Manager to lead engineering projects, collaborate with technical teams, and manage all aspects of project execution.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professionalism and dedication, providing exceptional service to clients and teammates while fostering positive relationships.
- Lead projects by collaborating with technical colleagues to develop detailed engineering proposals, manage schedules, and execute recovery plans.
- Develop comprehensive work plans, risk management strategies, communication plans, and work breakdown structures.
- Oversee project schedules, apply advanced scheduling tools, and manage the financial health of projects, ensuring timely reporting and performance tracking.
- Manage engineers, designers, and subcontractors, ensuring quality deliverables while supporting internal standards and resource management.
- Maintain strong client relationships, manage project scope, and support marketing efforts, including proposal preparation and identifying new opportunities.
- Plan, implement, and supervise client contracts, ensuring successful project execution, with travel to client facilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR PMP Certification and 10 years of experience in engineering consulting, project management, or data centers.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a project manager or engineer with an engineering consulting firm doing data center projects.
- Experience working with hyperscale data centers directly or indirectly as a consultant (required).
- Skilled in cost/work-hour estimating and proposal development and review.
- Capable of reporting on and managing scope, schedule, and cost for multiple projects executing simultaneously.
- Knowledge of earned value management and progress reporting.
- Experienced in contract and non-disclosure agreement language development and review.
- Ability to understand and work with budget and accounting processes.
- Strong coordination, team-building, organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills.
- Ability to read and write technically and coherently.
- Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams.
- Working knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel 10%-15% of the time, which may include fieldwork; duration varies by project and client needs.

Pay
Compensation range: USD $140,000.00 – USD $185,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, geographic location, and internal equity.
This position can be based in Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA region; Virginia; Ohio; Texas; or remote in the U.S. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
