Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects, collaborate with technical teams to create detailed proposals, and manage all aspects of project execution, including schedules, risk management, and financial health.
  • Drive client satisfaction through effective communication, high-quality deliverables, and strong relationship-building, while overseeing the work of engineers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and dedication, providing exceptional service to both clients and teammates, while fostering positive relationships.
  • Lead projects by collaborating with technical colleagues to develop detailed engineering proposals, managing schedules, and executing recovery plans when needed.
  • Develop comprehensive work plans, risk management strategies, communication plans, and work breakdown structures to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Schedule and manage project timelines, apply advanced scheduling tools, and manage the financial health of projects, ensuring timely reporting and performance tracking.
  • Manage engineers, designers, and subcontractors, ensuring quality deliverables, while supporting internal standards and resource management.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, manage project scope, and support marketing efforts, including proposal preparation and identifying new opportunities.
  • Plan, implement, and supervise client contracts, ensuring successful project execution, while traveling to client facilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR PMP Certification and 10 years experience in engineering consulting, project manager or data center.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a project manager or engineer with an engineering consulting firm doing data center projects.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • The ideal candidate has worked with a hyperscale data center directly or indirectly as a consultant, which is required.
  • Skilled in cost / workhour estimating and proposal development and review.
  • Capable of reporting on and managing scope, schedule, and cost for multiple projects executing simultaneously.
  • Experienced in contract and non-disclosure agreement language development and review.
  • Able to understand and work with budget and accounting processes.
  • Strong coordination and team building skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills.
  • Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to travel between 10%-15% of the time which may include fieldwork; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs.
