Principal Engineer Electronics

This onsite position is located in Oklahoma City, OK. Relocation assistance may be available. A Secret clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). Travel is required, up to 25% of the time.

Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Engineer Electronics. This position may be filled at either the Hardware Responsible Engineer (RE) or Sr. Principal Hardware RE level, depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform and execute Statement of Work (SOW) as a Responsible Engineer (RE) for COMMs Avionics Subsystem(s).
• Manage program requirements to ensure supplier compliance with program and AV design, test, document, and Avionics COMMs subsystems hardware requirements.
• Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
• Collaborate with subcontract engineers and stakeholders to implement subsystem performance and environmental requirements.
• Develop design solutions for obsolete hardware.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience designing, configuring, and installing avionics subsystems.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience designing, configuring, and installing avionics subsystems.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
