Principal Consultant | SAP Functional | SAP SD

Work Location: Irving, TX 75039 (Hybrid)

Contract duration: 6 months (with potential extension). Target start date: immediate. Visa-independent candidates only.

About the Role

As a Principal Consultant, you will be a key player in the consulting team that helps clients define the problem statement, evaluates solution options, and makes recommendations. You will plan configuration activities, configure the product as per design, conduct conference room pilots, and assist in resolving queries related to requirements and solution design. You will also conduct solution/product demonstrations, POC/Proof of Technology workshops, and prepare effort estimates aligned with customer budgetary requirements and organizational financial guidelines. Additionally, you will support knowledge transfer to provide value-adding consulting solutions that enable clients to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

• Define and document business requirements for the SAP OTC (Order-to-Cash) module, focusing on sales order processing, delivery processing, and invoicing.
• Perform detailed analysis of complex business processes and provide appropriate system solutions.
• Map client business requirements, processes, and objectives; develop necessary product modifications to meet client needs.
• Act as a liaison between business functions and the technical team to ensure smooth project execution and avoid roadblocks.
• Design functional specifications for reports, interfaces, enhancements, workflows, and forms.
• Configure and customize the SAP OTC module to meet business requirements.
• Document functional designs, test cases, and results.
• Provide end-to-end support for SAP OTC implementations, including testing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP OTC with other modules and systems.
• Develop and deliver training materials for end-users and stakeholders.
• Assist in project planning, timelines, and deliverables for SAP SD-related tasks.
• Work self-directed and independently; may mentor junior team members as a subject matter expert.
• Provide ad-hoc training within technical teams and to business owners as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution (or three years of progressive IT experience in lieu of each year of education).
• Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in Information Technology, with a focus on SAP functional consulting.
• At least 12 years of experience in configuration, solutions evaluation, validation, development, and deployment.
• Minimum of 4–6 years of SAP project implementation experience in SAP OTC (Order-to-Cash) and integration with other process areas.
• Experience with at least two end-to-end implementation projects, with at least one performed as a Solution Architect, preferably at a client location.
• At least 6 years of experience in business process consulting, problem definition, architecture/design, and detailing of processes.
