Principal Business Intelligence Analyst - Ambulatory Operations

About the role
The Principal Business Intelligence Analyst is a quantitative analytics professional who specializes in delivering actionable insights and analytics to business users, leveraging an enterprise analytics framework, infrastructure, and operating model. This role leads end-to-end delivery on multiple Business Intelligence projects, supporting clinical and operational areas such as clinical operations, nursing, quality and patient safety, finance, HR, supply chain, strategy, pharmacy, clinical disciplines, and informatics solutions.
Depending on skills and career goals, the analyst may focus on business consulting and visualization, technical data design and analysis, or both.
Responsibilities
- Independently lead multiple (2-3) projects simultaneously from end-to-end, supporting multiple (2-3) business stakeholders.
- Manage the portfolio of priorities and relationships with at least one business stakeholder.
- Work with stakeholders to identify high-level business needs, develop project charters, and define scope.
- Lead business requirement gathering and identify data sources.
- Develop technical data design requirements and write SQL queries to create data sources.
- Design visualization wireframes and craft dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders for QA and UAT.
- Conduct stakeholder training and share knowledge within the team.
- Mentor and train senior analysts in project management and delivery.
- Contribute to the development of analytic assets for institute-wide use.
- Address stakeholder feedback and deliver high-level customer service.
- Serve as a project leader, directing the work of others, whether they report into the role or not.
- Act as a mentor and teacher within communities of practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in healthcare.
- Tableau certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Experience with Tableau and Clarity Data Model preferred.
Skills
- Expert-level SQL proficiency.
- Expertise with BI tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Ability to navigate Epic Hyperspace, Clarity Data Model, and data warehouses.

Pay
$110,500.00 - $123,300.00
