Business Operations Analyst – Ambulatory Services

We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and collaborative Business Operations Analyst to support strategic growth and operational performance across Ambulatory Services. In this dynamic role, you'll partner with clinical and operational leaders to drive projects from concept to implementation, provide data-driven insights, and strengthen financial planning efforts that directly impact patient care, clinical efficiency, and organizational success.
Responsibilities
- Support complex operational and strategic initiatives across ambulatory services using Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Build financial models, business cases, ROI analyses, and pro formas to evaluate new clinics, service line expansions, and capital investments.
- Support operational budgeting, volume forecasting, workforce planning, and supply cost analysis.
- Extract, analyze, and interpret data from Epic, databases, and other enterprise systems to support informed decision-making.
- Develop executive-level dashboards, reports, and polished PowerPoint presentations for leadership audiences.
- Coordinate cross-functional implementation efforts, including clinical expansions, system deployments, operational readiness activities, and technology rollouts.
- Monitor project performance, track outcomes, and identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong business and financial acumen with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and ROI modeling.
- Advanced analytical and technical skills, including SQL, Epic reporting, Qlik, and advanced Excel.
- Proven project management experience leading initiatives from planning through execution.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex operational challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, information systems, or another relevant field.
- Four years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree in addition to the experience listed below.
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Informatics, or other relevant field.
- 3 years of experience in healthcare, accounting, business administration, finance, analytics, project leadership or related experience.
- Prior experience in healthcare analysis.
- Prior experience in analysis, strategic planning, and decision support.
- Prior experience in an academic healthcare environment.
- Prior experience in writing SQL or similar languages.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position, scheduled to work Monday through Friday with core business hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The role is hybrid with a regular need to work onsite in Madison, WI to support organizational priorities. Off hours availability may be required.
