Principal Business Intelligence Analyst

About the role

Navy Federal Credit Union seeks a skilled Data Analyst to support business decisions through quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The role requires expertise in data analysis, BI tools, and proficiency with various ERP, CRM, and database software.

Responsibilities

• Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Develop, maintain, and manage advanced Business Intelligence solutions.
• Prepare actionable reports showing key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement, and display root cause analysis of problems.
• Use analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts for new business initiatives.
• Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders and provide business strategy recommendations.
• Create specifications for analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements.
• Assist with the development and enhancement of practices, procedures, and instructions.
• Mentor lower-level staff.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in data analysis and upward strategic reporting of data.
• Subject matter expert within business area/specialization with understanding of interrelationships of different disciplines.
• Expert skill using business intelligence applications and/or cloud services.
• Expert knowledge of reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM and/or database software vendors.
• Advanced skill with data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R.
• Expert knowledge of analysis best practices, data research and root cause analysis techniques.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence executive decision-makers.
• Research skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Expert knowledge of data integration, cleaning and validation techniques.
• Advanced research skills in the ability to complete data research, business research, reporting/dashboarding best practices research, root cause analysis, needs assessment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, or related field.
