About the Role
The Outpatient Primary Therapist provides treatment for individuals with behavioral health and/or substance use disorders. Treatment is provided through individual, family, and group therapy in a clinic setting or through telehealth.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in counseling or related field
- Fully licensed by the state of Georgia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
- Three years of related experience
- Working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures
Skills
- Ability to assess needs, strengths, abilities, and preferences to develop appropriate clinical interventions and a plan of care
- Ability to effectively use evidenced-based practices to assist patients in achieving their identified goals
- Ability to assess for and assist others with managing crises
- Ability to effectively teach and model symptom management, communication, and social skills
- Ability to effectively use active listening skills
- Ability to empathetically relate to people
- Ability to maintain information as highly confidential
- Ability to organize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to effectively set boundaries
- Ability to think critically
- Ability to navigate the electronic medical record
- Knowledge of the most current DSM diagnostic criteria
- Familiarity with the continuum of care
Responsibilities
- Exercise duty of care with those persons who are currently in recovery or experience a relapse while employed, observing a minimum of two years away from clinical duties after acknowledgment of a problem and/or relapse along with treatment completion
- Obtain initial CPR and SCIPP certification within 90 days of employment and maintain certification as required
